After I started trial of the subscription account of Canva, I realize that the most use from me with this subscription is to find a nice picture for my blog title. With $155 per year only using the photos, I thought to look into alternative photo depot. The first service provider came across my mind is Shutterstock, which is pretty famous among my work community. My marketing colleagues purchase licensed photos from this depot quite often.
Instead of signing up straight ahead of the minimum plan, I decided to do what I learn from my German friends, to look into more possibilities of photo depot.
Then I found Alternativeto. They say:
"AlternativeTo is a new approach to finding good software. Tell us what application you want to replace and we give you great alternatives, based on user recommendations.
There are 62,066 apps in our database that our users have liked 592,034 times. You guys have had 346,412opinions about our alternatives. Today alone we got 333 new opinions, 247 new likes and about 6 cups of coffee."
Through this crowdsourced software recommendations, I found other photo depot services much collaborative with more interesting business model. One of them is Pexels. Love it!
